After 5+ years as President of the Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF), Terry Sullivan has joined Auror’s North American leadership team.
As he embarks on his new role as VP Retail Solutions, we asked him about why he’s joined Auror, what he sees as the retail industry’s top challenges in the near future, and the biggest highlights and lessons of his 29-year career in loss prevention.
Hi Terry, welcome to Auror! Tell us a bit about your new role and what the industry might expect to see from you.
In my role as VP Retail Solutions, I’ll be continuing to educate our industry in all that Auror has to offer. Auror’s platform not only identifies bad actors and takes them off the streets, but it keeps stores and communities safer. That’s something I am passionate about.
Why Auror, and why now?
The people, the culture, the company! I have been blessed with a great career in Asset Protection/Loss Prevention (AP/LP) and now have the opportunity to take what I have learned along the way and bring this to Auror.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Learning! I love new challenges and love to win.
What have been some of your biggest career highlights? And what have been some of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I love to drive results, to achieve wins, and to make things better.
People are the key. Surround yourself with great people and this automatically makes you and the team better. This was the case with LPF, I could not have asked for a better team to work with. To interact, listen, and learn from our Board of Directors was an absolute privilege.
Finally, looking at what are we focusing on now and what are we focusing on next? Always look for continuous improvement.
What do you think will be the AP/LP industry’s top challenges in the near future, and what place do you think Auror has in addressing those challenges?
The top challenge will be keeping employees and customers safe. Auror can help identify, solve and mitigate incidents. We need to continue to educate the retail industry on how we can do this together.
Finally, what is something not many people know about you?
Many years ago I ran the LA marathon without training. It showed me that anything is possible!
At Auror, we believe AP/LP is defining the future of retail. Read why.
